Structured coaching for every stage, from a child's first lesson to focused preparation for FIDE-rated norms.
Ages 5–8. Board basics, piece movement and simple checkmates, taught through games rather than lectures.
Ages 8–14. Tactics training, opening repertoires and regular in-house rated games to build a first FIDE rating.
Ages 12+ and adults. Structured preparation for national and Festival-level competition, including game analysis with a coach.
All ages. Evening classes for adults returning to chess or building toward their first rated tournament.
Groups meet weekly at the club hall in small cohorts, capped to keep coach attention high. Each group follows a syllabus that moves from tactics and calculation toward opening understanding, endgame technique and tournament practice, with periodic internal rated tournaments used to track progress.
Trainers hold FIDE trainer titles or national coaching certification, and each group's syllabus is reviewed each season against the results of our own players at the Festival and other rated events.
We run after-school chess programmes in partnership with schools across Abu Dhabi, using a simplified version of our junior syllabus. Schools interested in setting up a programme can reach the training department through our contact page.
